Al Gore was great also, a man with a mission. Nice to see him call out Nader backers.

Clinton's speech was awesome.

"Strength and wisdom are not opposing values". Great line.

"SHOVE IT!"

I need a bath after listening to that slimeball Clinton. Lie to your family, lie under oath, lie to your Country, but deliver a genuine speech?

Spare me.

D2 - I swear that was the exact line I thought was the most moving and pertinent of the entire speech.

Al Gore "America is the land of opportunity where every little child can grow up and win the popular vote".

Wisdom to sneak a whore in the Oval office. The strength to sit down on National t.v. and tell the nation he did not have sexual relations with that women.

What a joke. Did you see all the dweebs, nerds, hippies, and geeks in the crowd ?

It was truly awe-inspiring. Hopefully that will wake up the "I vote Republican even if Hitler is on the ticket" types.

He is the greatest political communicator of my generation.

And I liked the format, as it allowed me and the SheBar a chance to remind ourselves that if we EVER GOT THE CHANCE to do a swap nite with the Clintons, she'd be glad to do Bill and I admit with a blush that Hillary really turns my crank.

Karl Rove finished watching that and said "phew, thank goodness we don't have to face him instead". That would be a mismatch. Clinton is as good as it gets when it comes to connecting with people, will he get that energy over to swing voters in the important states is the key question. The Republicans don't have anyone in their camp that can give a speech that can match that one. When your best hope for getting voters in the middle is AH-nold, you know you just better hope you have enough people in your camp right now.

I guess you guys must have missed Bush's speech that said Iraq has WMD. Should I go on. I belieave I have a few dozen. Then again Clintons lie mattered because is was about sex where as Bush's was only costing young Americans their lives. Are you guys ever blindly bias not to mention uneducated.

Chuck Simms says it all when he summs you guys up as "I vote Republican even if Hitler is on the ticket" There's not a brain cell amongst you

Grant, you have misspelled words (not typing errors). I will not mention the grammatical and other errors. Your favorite type of response is to attack on a different subject. The thread was talking about Clinton. I made a witty and true comment about him. You came in talking about Bush. Bush didn't speak last night, atleast not at the Dem's convention. Stay in Europe where you belong.

ps. I guess the stuff he used on the Kurds was made up.

Agree it was a good speech...better than anything Kerry is going to put out.
Which means the convention is all down hill from there.
The Clinton machine is in full gear now,He will be taking the air out of anything Kerry has to say.Basically neutrulizing an already impotent coreless campaign.
Keep your eye on the ball remember the only people that want to see Kerry lose more than Bush is the Clintons.

What was scary was seeing the look of rapture on all the women in the audience when Hillary got up there. I had thought she was going to have a fight on her hands in 2008, but not anymore.

Either way, not many were watching. The bump is going to be non-existant.

From Drudge: THE BIG YAWN: NETWORKS IN RATINGS FREE-FALL AT CONVENTION, OPENING NIGHT: ABCNEWS JENNINGS WITH 3.5 RATING/5 SHARE [DOWN FROM 4.5/8 IN 2000]; NBCNEWS BROKAW 3.3/5 [2000:4.8/9]; CBS DAN RATHER 3.2/5 [2000:3.8/7... TRAIL ALL OTHER PRIME-TIME PROGRAMMING [CBS:MIAMI RERUN ON CBS PULLS 8.6 RATING/13 SHARE]... DEVELOPING...

Wow! the DNC blew their load and the ratings were still in the gutter. I'm not sure Kerry will see any bump out of this. I even thought he'd get 7-8%. It looks real bad. If they let Teresa speak and answer questions I'll watch that. She would get high ratings, comedy central.
